How Often Should You Get Your Eyes Examined?

Regular eye exams are recommended to diagnose, detect and prevent vision and other ocular health related conditions.
Frequency of eye exams can be dependent on each individuals eye care needs. The following are basic guidelines for how often you should get an eye exam:
Adults - Every 2 years
Children - 6 months to 1 year
Seniors - 1 year

Childrens Exams

The first eye exam is recommended at 6 months, then every 6 months to 1 year after that.

Seniors Exams

It is recommended that seniors get eye exams every year to help prevent eye issues related to ageing.

Adults exams

Adults should get eye exams every 2 years to maintain proper eye health and an updated prescription.
