Youth With Mild TBI May Be At Risk For Poor Behavioral, Mental Health Outcomes, Study Finds

Medscape Reported, Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and possible mTBI are associated with a greater risk for poor behavioral and mental health outcomes in adolescents. According to Medscape, an unexpected finding was the association of mTBI with decreased cerebrospinal fluid volume, which flows in and around the brain and spinal cord to help cushion them from injury and provide nutrients. Although, the authors say caution is warranted in interpreting these results.
